Quando iniciarmos um projeto de comunicação óptica deveremos levar em consideração vários parâmetros, e, sobretudo conhecer as tendências de mercado. Em relação ao tema acima a tendência é a utilização dos cabos e conectores ópticos para 10GigaBIT/s com núcleo 50um e devidos conectores para 10GigaBIT/s que são identificados com a cor água, um azul claro. Nas instalações antigas vocês encontrarão instalados cabos de núcleo 62.5um, pois naquela época não existia esta tecnologia, nem demanda para devida aplicação. Neste caso existirá um problema quanto a performance da rede , pois de um núcleo maior 62.5um para um núcleo menor 50um parte do sinal óptico irá ser refletida , ocasionando o que chamamos de “mismatch” uma má combinação. Já se utilizarmos um núcleo menor 50um para um núcleo maior 62.5um não teremos problemas de má combinação, sendo assim no momento da compra ou especificação de uma solução óptica analise com carinho o que já esta instalado , ou opine por uma solução moderna de ponta à ponta em 50/125um para 10GigaBIT/s.
